Rec Report: Active Adulthood


We may be past the hot days of Summer, but that’s no reason to give up on your healthy habits! For adults, it’s extremely important to continue physical activity throughout the year. But going to the gym day after day can be tedious and lose its appeal quickly.

In fact, 80% of people who make resolutions to go to the gym quit after just five months!

Adults should get 150 minutes, that’s two and a half hours, of physical activity each week. EACH WEEK! But between work, dinner making, school activities and/or other obligations, where do you find the time? Most of us would rather watch a movie and scarf popcorn, which takes about the same amount of time.

Luckily, we’ve got a few things coming up to make that physical activity more entertaining!

Starting in September, the recently renamed John H. Schnatter – Nachand Fieldhouse will be hosting Fall Basketball and Volleyball. These will then roll over into our Winter Leagues. These programs are for everyone! Basketball alone has the following divisions: men’s, women’s, men’s 40+, and men’s 60 and over. Interested in learning more?
