Halloween is in less than a week! You’ve got the costumes laid out, the pumpkins are carved, and you’re ready to map out your route. But where to start? In this month’s Rec Report, we have a few highly anticipated events and additional “tricks” for you to consider.
The Fieldhouse Bash is this coming Saturday at the John H. Schnatter – Nachand Fieldhouse. Come and rock the night away with the Juice Box Heroes. Tickets are $15 for general admission, but only $10 with costumes! Beverages and concessions will be available.
Want to feel like you got your money’s worth out of those costumes? After the fun on Saturday, rest up and come to Big 4 Station Park on Monday, October 30th. We’re having our annual trick or treat! That’s right folks, Kelly Services presents Halloween Downtown in Jeffersonville once again! From 6:00 – 8:00 PM, stop by and fill those bags with more candy than your kids can carry! We had so many ghouls and goblins last year we had to make another trip to the candy store! New this year is our Inflatable Fun Zone thanks to Southeast Christian.
And let’s not forget about All Hallows Eve. Neighborhood trick or treating takes place on October 31st from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Now all this fun can put you on a sugar high, but let’s talk about some safety tips really quick.
As always, remember to check both ways and hold hands with little ones while crossing the street. If your child has an allergy of the edible variety, be on the lookout for houses sporting a TEAL PUMPKIN. These wonderful neighbors will have non-food items for your little ones. Lastly, although it’s tempting to dig into the KitKats beforehand, hold off until you’re home. Once there, check to ensure there are no tears or unwrapped pieces. Homemade goods should be pitched unless you know the giver personally, and remove choking hazards (and place directly into your own stash) from the bags of smaller children.
With this Trick or Treat Cheat Sheet, you should have a spooky good time in the following days! Happy Halloween!
